LGBTQIA+ nightlife
How queer nights work in Salvador: mixed bars, party nights rather than fixed venues, and how to find what is on this week.

Like much of Brazil, Salvador's queer nightlife is organised around specific party nights and collectives as much as around permanent venues. That means the most reliable planning method is checking what is on during your dates, rather than arriving with a list of clubs.
- Nights start late; many venues only fill after midnight.
- Rio Vermelho is the easiest base for a mixed night out.
- Take door-to-door transport home, particularly after late nights.
Queer venues open, move and close quickly, and a bar that was a landmark two years ago may not exist today. Every venue named on this site requires current validation before you rely on it.
